Definitely not a deal beaker for me, though. After more than 2 decades, CatGenie remains the only self-washing, self-flushing, litter-free cat waste management system in the world. The only other thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't come in a jug or bucket, which would make it much more manageable. I honestly find the convenience and free shipping worth the slight price difference. I have Amazon Prime, so I order cat food and cat litter from them. I can get it from Petco for about $17.00, but I have to drive 45 minutes to get there or pay shipping from them. I pay about $20 for a 40lb bag from Amazon. One catch is that the cost is a little more. Obviously you can still smell right as the cat is doing it's business, but once they bury it, the smell is gone. The litter is unscented and blocks cat waste smells great. If you leave the litter too shallow, it can break up a little as you try to scoop it. Clumps like a champ, and as long as you keep the litter deep enough, it holds clumps. Doesn't matter which one, they all did it. Whenever I poured any of the other national brand litters out, big clouds of dust come puffing up. Elsey's litter a couple of months ago and I think it is about as close to perfection as a litter can be, for me. I've tried many brands of litter over the years, including many of the Tidy Cats formulas, Arm & Hammer, Sweat Scoop, etc. Elsey's, and it's a product I gladly splurge on. I also pay $20 from Amazon for a 40lb bag of Dr. World's Best Cat Litter is over $30 for a 28lb bag). It's pretty much my favorite litter out there, but I'll agree that it's not the cheapest (It's definitely not the most expensive, though. I haven't smelled ammonia once since having used it. ![]() Other litters I've used (Tidy Cats, Arm and Hammer, Fresh Step) start smelling like ammonia very quickly, but to me it seems like Dr. It also holds odors extremely well, including urine, feces, and ammonia odors. Elsey's soaks up the moisture so well that clumps hold together very well but will easy break apart into manageable, dry chunks. I've found that other litters will clump like glue - if you try to break the clumps apart with a scoop, it turns into a sticky, gummy mess, with litter goo sticking to the bottom of the litterbox. Elsey's is ACTUALLY unscented and doesn't irritate my respiratory system at all. I have an extremely sensitive nose, and even the typical brands labeled as unscented (Tidy Cats, Arm and Hammer, etc) make my eyes water and nose sting like crazy and produce a ton of dust when I fill the litterbox. I have to agree with /u/andreablondie and /u/jenisus. I'm open to any and all suggestions! I know this is hugely an opinion based question so let them roll! :D It can't break the bank! I'm currently paying about $13 for 40lbs (arm and hammer) and would like it to be in that range or less. I generally scoop every day but on days where I don't get to it I don't want to smell nothing but cat pee. Needs to be good at odor control without smelling like a french whore. Two of my cats like to pee in the same spot over and over so I need a litter that can handle that. Needs to be clumping, and needs to clump really well. However, it clumps beautifully! But the dust is just overwhelming! I feel like I need to wear a mask when I scoop the litter! Immediately I realized how dusty it is and how strong it smelled. I recently bought some scoop away to try. However, it was getting quite expensive and didn't seem to be clumping as well as it could. I really love how well it clumps and it's pretty low in dust and doesn't have a strong perfume smell to it. Since then I have been using Arm and Hammer. While, this stuff was all natural and nice and light it was also very expensive, didn't reduce smell and didn't clump very well. ![]() I used to use all natural litters that consisted of pine, cedar, corn etc. I have three indoor only cats, so quality of litter is very important, as is price. Hi everyone! I'm really hoping to get some valuable opinions on different brands of cat litter.
